I have a TomTom Rider (Motorcycle GPS) that has lots of bells and whistles and IHO is far better than a lot of the RV-oriented GPS. I made a cedar cradle and it sits on the dash above the radio.
Before departing on a long trip I go to the "mother site" for TomTom to map out my route (including planned rest and gas stop, sites, etc) then download to the GPS. Take GPS out to RV, plug it in and go.
When I get back from a trip before I put it back on the Gold Wing I can download actual route used, stops, etc.
And, I didn't have to lay out more $$$ 'cause I already have a great GPS.
