Thor exec's should have to sleep on the crap mattresses they put in their RV's.

Our 2017 Axis 25.5 is designed to have either 2 almost twin size beds or they can be pushed together to form a large king bed. However, when in the king size mode, you lose the isle to the restroom and only way to it is to crawl off the end of the bed. And, the mattresses and bolster type pillows provided by Thor were like sleeping on concrete. So, I ripped all that out, including the slide frame and made the mattress platforms about 6" wider with some plywood, covered in felt fabric. Then I put in 2 standard size twin mattresses. Also added 4" memory foam toppers to these mattresses. Now, beds in our RV are better to sleep on than the expensive king mattress in our bedroom at home.

What txtig said..

We picked up a Serta memory foam topper at Bed Bath and Beyond, I think it's 4" thick. Was about $160 on sale. Made all the difference in the world. Our master bed in the Challenger is now the most comfortable bed I've ever had, even better than our $2100 home mattress..
I sleep like a rock now.
Also picked up a 3" topper for the drop down bed. Hope this helps.

Yeah, takes a couple of days to get used to it being different from the bed at home, but the topper helps a lot.

We used a topper for a couple years, and the crap mattress gave out under it. We just got a 10 inch foam RV queen for about $225 on overstock- they had quite a number to choose from. Put it in this past weekend but haven't slept on it yet- looks nice so far!

Please let us know how it works out; once you've had a chance to "break it in"!

Oh Bob don't you worry I will. I am hoping the dampening qualities of the memory foam will fix many RV movement issues "if you know what I mean".
