May need to sell

Hi all, we may need to sell our 2016 Vegas 25.2 due to health reasons. :-( I would like opinions on how best to do this. Should we just sell it back to dealer, which they would probably give us less than if we sold it our selves, right? Or do we list it like on rvtrader, craigslist and like places? It's also unclear to me on just how to go about selling it our selves, do to the large amount of cash that would change hands. I would not trust a check or money order transaction.
Would appreciate you thoughts and any experiences you may have had in selling a MH.
Thanks

I'm sorry to hear of the health issues, it just isn't fair. Yes, selling back to the dealer would certainly net you a lot less money. But, if it becomes too much work trying to sell it yourself, it could be an easier way out. Yes, rvtrader.com amd rvt.com are good classified services. Take good pictures and several. Three pictures of the exterior won't cut it. You can ad a link to rvusa.co with the floor plan and specs of your unit. We used a cashier's check from our bank to purchase ours 2 yrs ago. If you owe money on your MH, you should go to the lending institution to make the transaction if possible. We went with the owners to their bank that held the loan. Gave the bank the check, they applied it to the loan. Unfortunately, the sellers were taking a loss on the MH (because of health issues) so they had to ad money to pay off the loan completely. I hope this helps and get better!! Here's a link to your MH on rvusa; https://www.rvusa.com/rv-guide/2016-...an-252-tr25951

I sure hate to hear this. Life has a way of dealing us some crappy cards from time-to-time. I'm praying things will get better for you and you can get back in the game soon.

As for selling, I think Dart posted some good info.

Good luck Micky and John.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. This is a hard decision to make as we really wanted to do more RVing and possible get a different MH. Hard to be so excited about something then realize you have to suddenly change directions.

Can you keep the rig, and just put it into storage for a while?
(We're also facing a serious health crisis; but have decided to "dig in", and ride it out...)

Although we own the rig free and clear, to possible/maybe continue, we would need to change to a more user friendly rig. There comes a point you have to ask is it wise to spend more money on this journey or is it time to let it go. Right now, working on just getting healthy again :-). We must say that this forum has just been the best in helpful information on our Rving adventure. Sure has helped us with a lot of those "things" that come up with a MH

we recently bought our rig private sale. The wonderful couple who sold it let us take it to our mechanic to look it over. Then we haggled on a fair price and I transferred the money straight from my bank to theirs.

If you are feeling healthy again, you might look into renting an RV from Outdoorsy. It won't be the same as your own little house but it will still get you out for a week or so.

Perhaps you could rent yours on Outdoorsy. Since you have no loan that cash could supplement you for medical expenses. When you're healthy again you still have your rig. Best of luck!!
