MH Vinyl Sheet flooring replacement near St. Louis?

Any recommendations?

Does one cut the old floor out, use it as a pattern, and lay down the new floor or do you apply over the material already in place?

We have some not-so-subtle staining in our 2020 23TW that we've decided needs to fixed, so we are looking for someone to do this professionally in the St. Louis-St. Charles area.

Thanks!

I suspect you have interlocking vinyl plank flooring not sheet goods. Depend on the manufactures, it comes in planks 5.75"x 34.25" planks or 14" squares. Because of the expansion and contraction factors it usually floats and is only glued at an edge. The old floor should be pealed up first and the sub floor checked for damage. We have it in the sticks and bricks as well as the RV and it is the very best heavy use flooring available if you do not have a heated floor.

I know it looks like planks, but it's not, it's sheet material. It was laid down on the subfloor before everything was added, so all the furniture sits on top, just like in most travel trailers. That's why I think the options are to cut it out or apply it on top. Issues with the slide will occur with the latter option, but I am holding out hope that an experienced amateur or a pro can tell me otherwise.

I don't want to do this myself, so that is why I am hoping to find a company or a guy in a work van that can do it near me.

Haven’t done such a project personally but there have been several remodeling threads from folks who have. I think most remove the old flooring as it’s usually not glued down. One fellow cut around his obstructions and just used quarter round trim to finish. It might be easier to use self stick tiles over the existing flooring though. You could test the slide for problems before committing yourself to the install but I suspect it wouldn’t be a problem. The tolerances on most slides is hardly surgical. Good luck and please post updates and photos if you do it.
