Good stuff this morning. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this video is worth a million.

This myth is busted. Enjoy the video.

That’s good! Must have been the Bounce this summer that kept them away or Canadian mice don’t like Irish Spring. At least they didn’t eat it and I can still use it in the shower.

It appears to work for me in western New York. I cut the bar soap into slices and put them on aluminum foil. I place the slices through out the RV. It may only work in confined spaces and on certain species of vermin. Use the original variety, not the Aloe version.

Is the video not the original variety? I would be curious to hear your story on why you think it may work. My concern based on picture and the video would be that you may actually be providing an attractant?

I will have to conduct some experiments now I will buy a bar Non Aloe of course and place in a few traps. If they attempt to eat the soap then presto I got one. But I will not set any kind of bait near my cars or boat.

We use a combination of dryer sheets, and cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil...

I heard about using Irish Spring soap from a gentleman who owned and stored RVs and classic cars for over 30 years. He swore by it. He stored the vehicles both indoors and outdoors. I also used Irish Spring to keep deer, rabbits and raccoons out of my garden. I am not an animal behavior scientist. Experience has taught me not to jump to conclusions upon viewing a few seconds of video. I have heard people swear by dryer sheets working. Others said they found them used for nest materials. I have had good luck with moth balls and others haven’t. There could be many variables. I would advise you not to count on just one method. Good luck. I hope you find something that works.

I put a bunch of original Irish Spring throughout our cabin to deter mice. Along with glue traps and rat poison (guess I was determined to keep them out). Everytime I went out there I was so happy, no mice, although I did see a few droppings. Thought I found a great way to keep them out. Well, went out last week and was cleaning up. Lo and behold! I think I found what was keeping the mice out! Stuck on one of my glue traps was a 6ft black rat snake! We tried to free him but he was just too stuck and we were pulling of his scales. Just to much injury and we had to put him down. [emoji30] So there goes my vermin deterrent.

That’s it...just lock a cat in the RV for the winter! Presto, no more mice.

I have a cat, so maybe the mice sense that and just Move on to the next rig.

Your rig doesn't have to be "Mouse-Proof"...
Just more "Mouse-resistant; than the other rigs around you!

The little critters will always find the easiest one to break into!

We have a cat and she loves to hang out under the RV! She's great at maintaining the mouse, chipmunk, and squirrel population!!

My wife is getting worried about me...

It has been about a week that I have been baiting mouse traps with soap and I have not caught anything yet. In some cases the soap is gone, so you might say the mice (if any) are getting a clean getaway.

I will keep trying, but it is getting old taking showers with sharp corners from cutting on my soap.

Our neighbor use to have a cat that roam free all the time, we never saw any signs of mice then. But that cat is gone or kept inside or similar. The only think that I have seen to actually work are the pellets because when mowing the lawn you can see them, sometimes wandering around in daylight as if they lost. You have to be careful where you place pellets though.

Mice and soap

Here`s my list of mice deterrents, none work completely but in combination the number of mouse droppings has decreased.
Ultrasonic units
Peppermint Oil on cotton balls in the drawers
Whole cloves in an aluminum pie plate
Dryer sheets
Sticky mouse pads
Underbody mouse spray
Warfarin
Steel wool stuffed in any obvious holes
Foam Insulation spray for any other obvious holes
Rubber snakes outside
Regular spring traps baited with peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
Moth ball packets under the hood and stuck to RV cover near doors
In the spring and fall before it freezes a bucket of water baited with sunflower seeds. ( my neighbours swear they see mice with life jackets running around)

Hi all.
We use bounce dryer sheets in our camper and at home. We have never had any mice since using the dryer sheets. There is something in the smell they don’t like.

Can you elaborate?

How many, where do you put them, for how long etc.?
