Quik-Fill battery watering system

Unique experience today. When I removed the Quik-Fil watering system from my chassis battery one of the plungers was missing. No mystery where it was as I had to fish it out of the battery. Has anyone else had this experience and is there a better more reliable system out there? Appreciate any and all responses.

For me, the best, cheapest, most reliable system is my $7.00 plastic battery water spout fill canister. It always adds the exact amount of water needed and I can service my 6-volts and engine battery in about 10 minutes a month. In addition, it forces me to inspect each battery for terminal corrosion and to insure they are still secure.

That's fine if you can see into all the cells and easily fill them. In some of the smaller motor homes (Axis and Vegas especially) that is not possible.

I really understand that problem. My batteries are on a pull out steel tray but it does not safely pull out far enough to see into the innermost battery fill holes. To top off requires flashlight, mirror, and a basting syringe, a three hand chore. Mom only gave me two so there is some hope and guessing required. When these need replacement, I will gladly opt for sealed cells of some sort.
Thanks to all for the discussion of 6 vs 12, I have learned a lot of useful stuff.

Thanks for the responses. Oneilkeys is right. On my Vegas it is nearly impossible to service the chassis battery properly. Are there any tricks of the trade from Vegas/Axix owners that I might try? Thanks.

Jerry,
Why did you remove the system from your battery???

I just installed the system to my house batteries. It works great. No way at all to see inside the cells on my coach.

Halfprice, I had stupidly dropped and stepped on the one I was installing on another battery and was going to swap them out. Didn't work out as planned but onward and upward. Appreciate all the forum help. Stay safe.

Battery Syringe Filler

This is what I use on my Axis. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its a Syringe Filler. I put a 12" piece of clear flexible tubing on the end of it and am able to fill the cell. I use a very small mirror and small mag light to view the cell level. Its tight but you can reach in with out to much trouble to remove the caps. I use the same method on the engine battery.
