Question Which model?

We are looking at two 2018 models. One is a Chateau 24F and the other is a Freedom Elite 24HE. The Chateau has a GM 4500 chassis and a V-6 while the Freedom has the Ford 350 chassis with V-10. Both have the same floor plan and are close in price and miles. Which do you think is the better model and are there any concerns about either. Thanks for your input.

Pretty sure the 4500 comes standard with the V8, not the V6... The 3500 comes standard with the V6.

That said, I would go over both very thoroughly looking for signs of leaks (roof leaks, but could also affect walls and floor - any sign of water intrusion) and delamination, and general wear and tear. I'd prefer the one that's in better shape.

All else being equal, if the GM chassis has the V8, I'd prefer that one because the Chevy chassis drives nicer. If it really is a V6, then I'd go for the Ford.

Welcome to the forum!
As far as one being "the best": which one do YOU like better?
(That's all that really matters...)

That Chevy is a 6L Vortec V8. I had one in a Gulfstream it was a very solid ride and great handling. Also very good performance in a smaller class C. If you plan to tow anything the Chevy has a few more horses than than the Ford 6.8 V10 but has almost 50 foot lbs less torque. My experience with the Chevy was

I stand corrected. I meant to say 6L on the chevy. We looked at the Chateau today. It is in great condition with only 11,000 miles on it. The one interior bathroom wall has a bow in it. It might be the way it is parked. It is on sloped dirt and leaning heavy to the left. A few cosmetic things like wavy rubber molding around the over head front bed, wrinkled plastic coating that is supposed to look like brick backsplash around the counter and sink. Other than that.... pretty nice. There were a couple of water hoses disconnected under the booth seat and a weird rubber bag attached to the floor around things in there. It looks confusing to say the least. I thought maybe this is where you winterize it but no idea.

Loose waterlines maybe the owners winterize plan. But what do I know I live in AZ. Winterize? Whats that?
