Mother Nature is a fickle mistress
Got the RV ready to go.
Mother Nature is throwing us a curve ball and I can't hit curves with a canoe paddle.
Sub freezing temps along with snow in the next 36 hours. Only going to last into Thursday when temps will be back up in the 50's.
The pavement is still warm so I'm going to try setting up a wind dam with 1" thick Styrofoam boards that are 1'X4'. Just cut to fit, duct tape together from the frame down to the ground. I used the same method in Chicago when it got many degrees below zero and it seemed to insulate the cars.

Can't you just dump the tanks, and leave the faucets open?
(and drain the hot water heater?)
Good luck!

I'm almost glad that the Dealership still has mine.
(They're putting the recliners in it right now... )

Our rig is plugged in. I have an electric heater running on low in the MH with the cabinets open. Last night it dipped below freezing and the MH was 50* this a.m. Temps are supposed to hover near freezing 32-34 today day and our forecast calls for freezing dipping into high twenty's for about 12 hours overnight tonight.
I have my hot water heater electric element on. We have had light freezes like this in the past and I personally don't think temps in the high 20's overnight is going to freeze anything up to a point it will cause damage. None the less I will keep the heater running for the next day or so.
Good luck all
Mark

Blow out the lines with air. If temps aren’t below 28 for an extended period you should be okay. I had 2 nights at 30 with a half full fresh tank and dewinterized coach a few weeks ago and all went well.

She's sitting in storage covered up because of the new driveway install which now will also probably be delayed due to the weather.
The facility doesn't like it when you drain 20/30 gallons of water out onto the ground.
Should be able to capture enough radiant heat off the concrete to keep everything about freezing for one night.
Thanks for the input.

"I'm not seeing this, I'm not seeing this." Says the almost crazy women watching white stuff swirl around in the air.
Curve ball indeed. Dewinterized over the weekend and DH filled the fresh water only to have us decide that draining and blowing out the system the next day would be prudent as we watched the mercury sink. We got what we can loaded for a departure tomorrow. We'll wait until just before departure to refill the tank. It's supposed to be above freezing where we're headed. Fingers crossed. Otherwise, we'll be running the heat and hoping for the best. Commiserating with all you other mid westerners. And they wonder why we're ready to get out of dodge.

For sure; and coffee too. I really wanted it to be sangria weather though.

With enough sangria: you could be outside in,a howling blizzard... and enjoy it!

It's hard for me to say this but coffee is in my past. I'm retired USN and drank coffee by the gallon but stomach surgery has put an end to that.
Wife: "He shouldn't drink alcohol either, should he?"
Doctor: "There is nothing wrong with some bourbon. Just don't drink the entire bottle"
Wife: Death stare.

We did the same.
Pulled ours out of storage Saturday and saw the report for low to mid 20's this week.
Decided to hold off the water flush until next weekend.
Would think a ceramic heater under the coach and the furnace on low temp would keep the freezing away.

I have found myself lately reducing the coffee to one or two cups per day but the Tequila and Bourbon budget has increased substantially. The DW has also taken to making drinks with umbrellas for desert instead of cake or pie.

Looking for short bottles of liquor. Woodford is a good "short" bourbon. Need some scotch, tequila, rum, etc.

Accumulating here, although it stopped for a bit.
Light coating on everything but the warm cement.

You are a two tanker, we are a one tanker.
Explanation: When people left KY and they only had money for one tank of gas, they ended up in OH. If they had enough money for two tanks of gas, they ended up in MI.

Well we're darn near Yoopers. (You might have to be a Michigander to understand that one.) Does that make us a three tanker?
Temps already dropping south of 30. DH just got gun shy and even though he blew out the lines, he decided to go out and turn the furnace on for the night. At least the coach will be warm if we both wake up at o-dark- thirty ready to hit the road. We're used to those farmers hours.
