battery question

I have three batteries on a coach I recently bought. I on camp where I always have shore power. Can I drop down to two or even one battery. My old fifth wheel on had one, why does a coach need three?

First welcome to the forum.

Yes you can use only 1 12 volt house battery. You will still need a chassis battery as well.

Chances are you have 1 chassis battery and 2 house batteries. Your 5th wheel did not need a chassis battery. Your house batteries can be two 12 volts in parallel or two 6 volts in series. You could change that to one 12 volt if you wish but It will not last as long a two

I have three house batteries and one chassis battery for engine. Four batteries total. I always camp with shore power available, so I was thinking I could go to one house battery no problem. I just bought this coach used, 2006 hurricane and plan only to camp in parks with shore power, in my and state of PENNA and close by states, no boon docking.

Multiple batteries are for boondocking and since you don't plan on doing that, it would be acceptable to go down to one battery. If they have different install dates on them (if at all), pick the newest one and keep the others as spares for a while. Depending on the age, might even have them tested.
