Need your 2 cents on this please

When I bought my 2017 Jayco Grayhawk from some immaculate owners, it came with a huge whole RV cover in a bag and 4 covers for the tires.

They had installed a queen size dual sleep number bed, so each side has it's own air hose and the air pump is in a storage bay under the bed.

Finally, I'm about to replace the entire front drive and suspension and some rear springs that are less then 3 years old which are rated for 7500lb each. The front axle, rotors brakes, springs, shocks, everything you find under the Ford E450 front end - gone and for sale.

My question to you good folks across various forums is: How much should I ask for on these things? I have no idea about them, I have no need for them, just need to move it along to somewhere.

Thanks in advance if you have some amicable answers.

Lowball the price if you want to move it quickly. I'd guess $999 for the complete, used front suspension/diff, sold "as is". You could also call a boneyard or two to see what their price is if you wanted to purchase that setup.

You could also see about the price of it as scrap metal if you have verified the combined weight of it.
Just my opinion so don't quote me.

I agree: the biggest question is: how quickly do want to move it?
Then: price it accordingly.
Good luck!

Do an eBay search for similar items and see how they are priced.

Right, well I could also perpetually peruse craigslist in multiple cities, Amazon, Camping World, and do periodic google searches, and start a spreadsheet . . . I didn't ask anyone HOW else to come up with a value, I asked people on this forum what they think the value is. See how that works? FYI I've already checked the ebays etc which is why I posted here.

The $999 is interesting. I know it's all arbitrary and surely if I posted any of it for a whopping $5 I'd sell it in a day. I'm not in a hurry although when I swap the front end I'd like to move it sooner than later.

Your very first post said you had no idea about these things and just wanted to move them, so people responded appropriately. No need to get snippy because you didn't get what you though you asked for.

That said, this is a Thor forum, not a Ford forum. Ask there. Maybe you'll get some "amicable" answers.

It's worth it's weight, in weight.
Only someone who crashed one, who didn't have insurance, is piecemealing one back together, would be looking for any of those parts. A body shop for a customer, maybe, but unlikely. Possible though if their normal source couldn't provide it. Those parts don't exactly go bad from regular usage in any short period of time.

Put it all on Craigslist for:
'half of scrap value, must take all'
collect the 15 bucks and call it a day.

If you're having a company do your front end install they are the best place to ask about disposal or trade in or if keeping the parts is part of the deal. They've, hopefully, dealt with the leftover parts dozens of times...if you're doing the work, ask the guys you buy the kit from what they do.

I never even asked about my 2018 front end parts when front suspension was replaced.

Actually I am quoting you sir, it deserves it for being a legit straight answer. The place that's doing the wrenching could just keep it, but they would end up selling it for scrap too so whatever $ that comes to, I want it. I'm also keeping all 6 of these wheels and newish tires in my upgrade, I'm not abandoning them.

Some people in these forums are mechanics or in a business that better lends to knowing the arbitrary value of the front end stuff.

These forums are full of RV people who buy and sell RV stuff and are inherently more informed about these RV products. The cover is big enough for a 32' RV. I'm sure someone has bought or sold one somewhere by now.

Just trying to help, as I have a mechanical background myself, and felt that a number under 4 figures for the complete deal is a fair assessment based on what I know about used parts. Thanks for your response!

Yes, don’t just look at how much things are listed for, look at the completed listings.

No reputable body shop is going to put used front ends into a customer's rv because of the liability.

The sleep number mattress & the rv & tire covers will be easier to sell than the scrap front end parts.
I'd list them all separately, a couple hundred bucks for the mattress & the same for all the covers.
The value of the scrap front end is anybody's guess what it's worth, to me nothing but scrap, but someone may haul it off for you & possibly pay a few bucks.

My question is, if it's so immaculate, why are you replacing the front suspension? Why not add some upgrades to accomplish the same result for slot less money?

You would have to deal with pick up or shipping if you sell on a wide area site. I think local truck/rv shops best bet.
