Thread below closed at record rate. Wonder if it was the thread/comments we can see or deleted ones. Ducky which comments were you referring in the "name and event" comment? I'll sit by my comments because standing get tiresome.

If you're referring to the one about Boondocking sites: it had taken a dark turn that wasn't productive anymore.
But it wasn't a record: we got 2 pages out of it.

No I'm referring to one I started this morning, RV pricing, lasted 2 hours 6 total posts. Fun, I think, while it lasts.

I thought we could discuss the recent events of pricing, supply and inflation without it getting too political. Or if some people are offended by anything that has the slightest hint of some politics, they have the freedom to hit the ignore button. Oh well such is life.

Inflated prices and product shortages are often caused by government actions. Government actions are the results of the people we elect to run things for us. The people we elect are political beings. So in essence, inflation and product shortages are political. Political postings are verboten on this forum so talking about prices and shortages is probably not allowed either.

Pretty much we can't talk about anything without someone becoming offended. Maybe we can talk about baking, wait no because bakers make cupcakes, can't discuss weather because of winter weather phenomenon of snowflakes. Can't discuss thor poor quality because work ethic and promptness have been linked to white supremacy. Better stop before I delete myself.

I am still laughing at "Jr Seamonkey" reference which may have had the mic drop effect. Don't think I have heard anything funnier since I was once fishing and saw what I thought were ducks diving into the water. I was told they were "Water Turkeys"

That describes what is wrong with this and other RVlife forums.

In my opinion, an RV forum is better suited to discussions about buying RVs... NOT discussions about who's buying politicians.

Well the RV pricing thread I started was exactly about buying and pricing and the problems we face today and likely to face in the near future. If a person doesn't know what inflation is they won't recognize when it hits them and their wallet/pocketbook. Not understanding how interest rates affect buying can cause people great problems. Most economic situations have political causes and cures.

In an altruistic world there would be no "inflation" or "interest"... In simple terms, those are man-made terms to describe a method of wealth transfer without providing a material exchange. If that doesn't make sense, you haven't simplified the equation enough.

Which has nothing to do with politics.

Whether we agree or not with theories on global warming, I can’t see a path forward where concerns on energy usage will not play a major role in RV pricing.

Whether there is social pressure to downsize, price increases in all types of energy/fuel to reduce consumption, mandatory switch to electric drive, or whatever, I think trends in RV design and associated higher costs will continue, making them more expensive.

In my opinion inflation may or may not be a major influence to RV pricing in a few years once economies rebound to post-Covid new normals, but I don’t see a longer term scenario where concerns over global warming (justified or not depending on your believes) will not make RVs more expensive in order to make them more fuel efficient (however that’s accomplished).

I know most people look at issues short term, but I’m thinking +/-10 years down the road or longer when there may be very little demand for 8 MPG motorhomes and trailers. There will be changes, and it’s not going to be free.

Please note I’m only expressing what I think is inevitable, not why or who is responsible or should be blamed. This seems important to me because depreciation is a large percentage of cost, and some buyers keep their RVs for years.

I have noticed that when someone quits the community rules it's really a way to try to censor, cancel or otherwise prevent a free exchange of ideas that they don't want to see. This is my last comment and I'll "unfollow" myself.

I do not think anyone is preventing the free exchange of ideas (within the rules), it is the sniper taking pot shots they want to quieten.
I have been chastised a few times, mostly from my own doing.
