Newbie with a 2016 Vegas 24.1

When we purchased our new motorhome the salesman told us it was on a E350 chassis with a 5 speed trans. When I looked up the VIN # I discovered it was on a E450 chassis. I'm wondering because it's on a 450 chassis does it have a 6 speed trans. I have tried to listen for the shift points but because of noise and bad hearing I can't tell.

Also what's the difference between an Axis and a Vegas, they look the same to me (there was not an Axis at the RV dealership.

Thanks

Axis/Vegas are identical except for some color options and the front headlights.

What does your PRNDL look like (e.g. type in the letters you see on the shifter display). The different transmissions show different low gears (I believe the 6-speed shows 2, 1 that the 5 speed only shows L. it may even be noted in Ed's manual which you can download here: http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f10...nual-4961.html )

Jamie -- I tried to find how to tell if it has ,5 or 6 speed and could not find anything. Probably can only tell be the window sticker. There is no code in the VIN for transmission. And without having access to a unit with 6 speed I don't know how the shifter might be labeled.

Maybe someone e out there with a 6 speed can tell us how the shift is labeled. If I get that info I'll add it to the manual. I did put a revision in for how to read the VIN and tell if you have a 350 or 450 chassis.

If you look at the dashboard shift indicator, in the 6spd it reads PRND421. In the 5spd it reads PRND321. It is the easiest and quickest way to tell.
