Beware thor 2017 hurricane owners

We were driving down the highway in our brand new MH and all of the sudden the ENTIRE FRONT WINDSHIELD SHADE ASSEMBLY CAME CRASHING DOWN!! Wires ripped out the whole huge assembly. Thank God no accident and no broken windshield but scary as hell!'

There are 5 block of wood "screwed" into the header to hold it up....only 1 screw was actually far enough through the block to "hold" it in place. Now we have to take it on again (5th time in 8 months) wait for part etc. and camp for 4 days in a fishbowl.

This could have been sooooo bad! Paula

Glad to hear that you guys are okay. This could have turned into a really bad nightmare... on steroids!
Since this has continued to happen: it seems that some "creativity" is needed to prevent another guest appearance of this unwanted intruder!

How long did it take to pry the seat cover out of your crack, would have taken me a while!!! I've actually had the screws out of mine, had to shim one end to get it level. I used drywall screws when I put the shade back.

Thank you for sharing, hope everyone checks their shades, might prevent an accident!!!

I think that I would have coated the screws with some kind of epoxy...

This has happened here in the Forums before..someone's entire drop down bunk assembly dropped down on them while they were driving (and not rolling down the tracks..it all fell down).

Not fun at all.

When they decided to call it a "Drop-Down" bunk: at least they named it accurately!

Please don't let this sour your feelings about the rig...
I've been a longtime forum member in a place that discusses Can Am Spyders. When a problem pops up (and they do with everything built and sold to the public); there are always those who throw their hands up in the air, and decide that they're doomed!
If you think only about trouble: that's all that you're likely to see.
Try and find the good things, and concentrate on them...
