No fuse in panel, only breaker which is good. Found problem inside the junction box adjacent to heater element...damaged wires and possibly a bad relay. Will further advise and share when I get the damage repaired.

We have a new 2018 Thor Axis and it also seems to have a bit of corrosion in different places and I’m now wondering if we don’t have same wire problem, our water heater doesn’t fire every time.
We are checking it out today, thank you

On mine, they had used strand type wire, which was attached to the 12/2 wires using thumb nuts. Neither of these, I don't think, would pass code.

Hi Tonyl

What year, make and model do you have? Do you have a hot water on demand(Tankless) water heater? We need a little more information to help you out.

Paul

Hi Tonyl,
The Girard is very sensitive to flow rate. After reading on the forums, I learned to set the temp to 106 degrees (+ or - depending on how you like your showers) then use the hot water ONLY at full flow. That kept the Girard heating continuously while the water was flowing. The second half of the "camping shower" has hot water immediately, followed by a short burst of cold or cool water from the pipes until the hot hits the shower head again. Hope that helps.

Hi Tonyi

With the tankless Girard water heater, it needs 55 psi water pressure to work properly. It is sensitive to operate with less than 55 psi. I use an adjustable water pressure regulator when hooked up to shore/city water. Have you tried just using your onboard water tank supply with water pump to see if it will work properly? I set my water temp to 104 and only use the hot water. If you try mixing hot and cold, the water heater will by pass allowing cold water to the shower until it catches back up to heat the water. Now that I understand how to use the system, it works great. I also changed out my shower head to an Oxygenics model 88446. Got it at Home Depot for about $40.00. Made a big difference when taking a shower.

Paul
