Onan 4000 issue

The genny on my Vegas has developed a very annoying issue. It runs fine for anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours then shuts down. Gas and oil levels have always been good. Any ideas very much appreciated thanks.

The only time I had an issue beyond 15 or 20 minutes run time was when I backed into spot at a Cracker Barrel. Apparently when I backed over elevated curb it blocked air flow from generator and it stopped on overheat. I realized what happened immediately, pulled it out and it restarted and stayed running. What reminded me about cooling air was dead spots you see where RV parked and ran thier generator. Hot air from cooling fan dries the grass out. There were no codes and it was only off maybe 15 minutes.

There is a post about that problem it has to do with oil dipstick full level mark being incorrect the post said full mark should just acctually be a little above add mark when oil level is up to full mark it is actually overfilled this triggers a sensor and shuts gen down check forum I saw it posted a few days ago hope this helps

I was having trouble with mine after having it serviced until I read the post about oil level. I have the oil level toward the lower portion of the full mark rather than the upper portion and it seems to be better now. just be careful that it is not too low.
