Since you are Trial & Error testing...

1. How consistent to 1 hr is it? +/- 10 min etc.
2. Have you tried letting it run for say 30 minutes, stopping it and see if it goes to 1 hr and then stop again?
3. What kind of loads was being applied, have you tried with full load or light load to detect a difference?
4. Have you checked the altitude adjustment settings? Set it to 0 ft or be sure it is set based on your elevation
5. Have you called Onan Support to ask them, you may wish to try that and if you don't get a good response from 1st guy call again and 2nd person may have a better idea.

I will do that. Load is ac. No I did not run for 30 and stop then run again. 1 hour is not consistent. Did the seafoam flush today so ran for 30 minutes with load (ac), it sputtered a few times during that 30 minutes. After flush ran on a load and it ran for 2 hours still doing the sputtering every once in a while then shut down.

If you lucky the Seafoam will do what it did for my portable genset. I had not used in a while as battery was down and it was hard start. I worked with getting new battery etc and got it to start with ease but it kept shutting down. It would go 10 min or and hour but shut down.

I tried the seafoam and noticed a difference as it would run longer but still shutdown. I just kept adding more seafoam and letting it run. Eventually it went several hours. I then hooked to the house transfer switch and tried running it all day on Saturday. It made it and has been perfect every since. Now, I always use Seafoam and I always run that genset at least once every 2 weeks. It is 9 years old but it starts on 1st or 2nd turn of key every time. I can't recall last time I had to pull the starter rope.

Just so you know, I have not run Seafoam in my Onan. Not sure how I would do? I thought I read somewhere where you were not suppose to add additives to the gasoline for the Ford F-53? But I can't find that source now.

Does it start right back up or do you have to let it sit for a while first? If it wont start right back up check for spark and check for fuel.

Could there be a fuel line issue?
It also sounds a lot like a vapor lock. Back in the day when I ran with a large group of Mustang owners. There was a guy with a 429 that would run and after a a while the heat of the engine would heat the fuel line and create a vapor lock.
The quick fix was wood cloths pins. Sound dumb, but it worked.
See if there is a place where the fuel line is to close to the engine or if a heat shield has for some reason come off.

Clothes pins:

Used as stand-offs for the fuel line. Probably not your problem or fix.

His gen will run so carb proves it can work, issue is why it is sluggish and shuts down. Based on how old or where used a new carb may be in order, but my money says to keep running it and keep using strong doses of seafoam. Eventually, it will clean itself out. i.e start it up every other day and let it run as long as it will until you can get 3 to 4 hours without it stopping on you.

If he is capable, having the carb removed and serviced should work; but OP may have already tried that?

Does it crank (turn over)?
Have you primed it?
When was the last time it was run?

The warranty on a 2017 RV is long past.

It’s a ‘17. But may be better than taking to RV dealer

Did you check the 100 amp DC breaker near your batteries that supplies the generator starter to make sure it isn't tripped?
