Over heated water heater

Anyone had this problem? We were heating our water on electricity in our Windsport 29m. It's an Atwood. All of a sudden we started getting a hot odour than a pop. The water is very hot. Don't know what happened and when I tried the propane it wouldn't lite

We just recently had a short on our water heater, smelled something burning, turned out to be a faulty 120v connection on the back of the tank. If your tank won’t light on propane you may have blown the 12v control board. Open your outside cover and see if everything looks, check your connectors. If nothing appears out of order a trip to the dealer will probably be needed. The Atwood does get the water VERY hot!

VERY HOT is almost an understatement!!
Mine will scald the flesh from the bone in a New York Minute!!! You definitely have to be careful and learn the faucet mix system.

I haven't read the manual yet, but has anyone figured out if there is an adjustment on the thermostat or not???

Typically no adjustment in stock version.
Something like this might work with your model.
(I haven't tried it... But seen it searching a couple of times... Just opted to be careful instead.)

Yep, it looks like it would work. I'll have to consider it and see if being careful outweighs the aggravation of getting to it in the RV.
