As a physician I can assure that there is no personal or public health problem with draining to the shower

Thanks!
I told my Missus about it, and she said it sounded about like peeing in the shower...

Bob -- We have the cycler drain into a drain bag set during the night. (We lay the drain bag set in the shower.) The next morning we drain the bags into the toilet and flush the liquid into the black tank. We use the drain bag set because we were concerned that as each 2 liter drain occurred during the night (hubby does four drains a night) that the toilet wouldn't flush on its own when necessary -- this work-around lets us avoid any potential overflows. It has worked just fine.

She's using the 2 liter bags right now for the manual exchanges. We were concerned about how many times I'd need to wake up for the emptying process.

Bob, I am so very sorry to hear about both the chemo and your wife’s kidney. I have no experience to share but I do have prayers for both of you. I have no doubt you will overcome this and be able to thoroughly enjoy your trips. It seems you have already received some helpful info.

Pam

We've been doing the training on how to perform dialysis at home, and hey're delivering a TON of stuff at the end of next week.,,

We have two trips planned for 2020.

A short trip to Lake George, and an eleven day trip down to WDW and back.

My question:

When travelling: do you prefer to use the manual method? Or is it easier to hook up to the cycler for overnight dialysis?
Bob, there is a Facebook Group that I have gotten answers from when having questions about travelling with my disabled wife.

It is: 'Camping With Disabilities or Chronic Illness'

Wonderful group of people and they have discussed dialysis on the road issues also.

I hope your wife has a speedy recovery and can get back on the list soon.

Tell her we only do it to save water. Our advantage...we can pee in the shower and not have to step in it. One thing we CAN do they can't...pee in the sink!!

Prior to Transplant, my wife did portable hemodialysis four or five times a week. We traveled with a small enclosed motorcycle trailer and carried supplies in it.
We also had Fresenius drop ship supplies to our destinations.
