Portable water filter for drinking

I looking for suggestions for portable water filter systems to bring along in our motorhome. I am tired of brining gallon jugs to drink, make coffee etc. I already have a filter on the water hose but the wife wants something for inside the rv. Perhaps a counter top type ??

Forget the little blue in line water filter you see hanging off the side of many RV's. Get a home style filter canister and replaceable filters. More capacity and filtration can very depending on the micron size of the filter and the filter material chosen.

We have found this one:

https://www.campingworld.com/hydro-l...e-water-filter

It seems to do a pretty nice job...

If you are already filtering the water coming into the RV a 2nd filter will catch, what? (oh all the plastic parts that Thor left in the system...ok continue)

Got a zero for the trip we are ending now. It has been in use for two weeks and works great. The coach whole house filter took the TDS down to 110 and adding the blue in- line hose filter dropped the TDS to 108. I’m happy with the zero filter. Some bad taste, however, does not go away.

As a note my 7 stage RO filter at the house takes the TDS from 102 down to 15. That filter cost me 600.00.

We use the HL-180 in conjunction with the house filtration system.
So far: no upset stomachs!
(Other than from my cooking... )

FWIW, some of the major brands of bottled water were recalled for parasites last month.

I plumbed these together with the filter before the softener with a sediment cartridge both mounted in a milk crate, from the softener to the onboard filter with a charcoal cartridge, we've drank the tap water everywhere we've been, made coffee/tea, & makes crystal clear ice cubes. No hard water scales on the fixtures & makes showers/sinks easy to clean. The milk crate is a bit heavy/bulky but the system has worked well for us. The softener has to be recharged, depending on incoming water, about 3 to 4 weeks with 1 box of table salt & about 20 minutes.

But then, you've got to carry the water along with you...
I'm a bit short on storage space, so I try to not carry extra stuff that we don't really need...

(I'm not saying that all 660 bottles are going with you! )

Not to mention the fact that you have to dispose of 660 plastic water bottles too.

Bob we don't carry them all at once. How could you not have storage you're in an outlaw with a garage? Whether it be water filters water containers every single thing everybody uses needs to be disposed of with my kids I'm comfortable with them disposing everything I personally just like refilling refrigerator and freezer with bottle water and drinking cold water while Driving. I was just trying to throw another thought out there. Before people spend 50 - 300 on filters. There is another option. I also am not full timer.
