Did the show mention why they went with 5th wheel arrangement? It's quite a departure from the norm for these off-road RVs.

I got the impression it was simply for more room in the trailer than your typical Unimog RVs give you (and weight carrying capacity for the telscoping section and all the masts).

Yeah, that part is cool. I like the upper telescoping section that works like a vertical slide. I don't like traditional slides but going up makes more sense to me.

The idea of a second story that opens like a Hi-Lo trailer located over a permanent low-profile first floor could almost double living space. It's actually a very old concept that is being tried again by more custom builders.
