House batteries

I went to get my 2014 33.2 ready for a trip this weekend. I took it out of storage (not hooked up to external power) and took it home and hooked it up to our 50 amp. I could not get any power to the interior, but there is power to the inverter. The inverter has a steady red light showing fault, the charging light flashes green, and the message on the inverter says dead battery, charge. There also is power coming out of the 50 amp, as the surge protector green light comes on.
I checked the wate rin the batteries and 3 of the 4 batteries were low.
Will it recharge now that I have added distilled water or is there something else I need to do or check?

More than likely if you ran batteries all the way down, you will have to replace them

it depends, if the batteries are really too low, it probably won't be able to bring them back to recharged status since the Inverter may think they are too low and will shut down(red fault light).
The charge light should not be blinking, which means that it is in 'wait' mode - it should be steady green if it is charging, and the 'VOLTS' at the panel readout should reflect a number between 13 -14 volts...

You may have to attach a separate 12v charger to the battery bank to get it back to a voltage condition where the internal charger will pick up and continue...

If the batteries are six years old and have been drained flat. I would say it's probably time for some new ones.

I’ve read on a battery site that you shouldn’t add water to battery’s after they are three years old. Isn’t this stupid.
