Tow Dolly
I’m looking for best recommendation for a tow dolly for a front wheel drive to be used with a Thor Axis 24.1, does anyone have any suggestions.

I use a Master Tow 80THD to tow my 2016 Kia Sorento behind an ACE 30.3. I have about 5500 towed miles so far with no problems. I would not recommend trying to tow any vehicle wider than the Sorento - clearance on each side is close enough you have to make sure the towed vehicle is exactly centered or you can easily get one side or the other too close to the dolly fender/wheel.

The Equinox is also flat-towable, isn't it?

I've dolly towed and now flat tow. If all possible I would flat tow. Much easier, quicker and you don't have to find somewhere to store dolly while home or at campground

We have the Acme tow dolly and have towed two different FWD cars close to 5000 miles now (Ford Escape, and Ford C-Max Energi) behind our Axis.
The Acme is pretty simple to use and with the surge brakes you don't need a brake controller.

Don't find out from the dealer. Go to the source: your owners manual.
From the 2016 Manual:

If your like me and change vehicles every few years, tow dolly is the way to go. I have invested in flat towing setup for two vehicles now and sorry I wasted all that money and did not buy a tow dolly instead. I now have a Demco tow dolly with the steering axle and love it. Store it under the rear of the motorhome when camping. Other great thing is I can use the tow dolly behind my truck when I need to for non-camping purposes. Flat towing is too isolated to a specific tow vehicle with no flexibility.

There are bunches of discussions on tow dolly's on this forum and others. One of the more recent threads is a ivr2. Fairly lengthy discussion with the usual wide range of opinions.
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f85/buyin...ad-365599.html
We have an American Car Dolly that we use with our 2015 Mini Cooper S (automatic). Somewhere in the irv2 thread is my post on our experiences. The ACD is heavy duty and is generally lower cost than many others. Plus they will deliver it to your door and give you some training on how to use it.
