Axis 25.2 rear slid out awning in the wind.

While staying on the west coast of Florida recently, we experienced what they called "blustery" winds.
The awning on the slidout flopped around and beat on the top of the slide. It was very hard to sleep with the noise and the worry that the awning was going to be damaged.
Is that common? If so, does anyone with the same problem have a fix?

As far as I know there isn't a lot you can do about it. Move the MH so the wind hits a different direction if possible. I did see someone throw a rope lengthwise over the topper and tie it under the slide out, never tried it myself, guess it might work.

After some use the material tends to stretch slightly and the topper springs may need to be re-tightened. The toppers are generally spring loaded and tightening the spring tension should solve the problem unless the topper material or spring was damaged. Sometimes it is best to have an RV Service center do this (depending on the topper manufacturer) because if the springs are adjusted too tight it could damage the topper material when opening the slide or on my previous coach, it stopped the slide from opening completely (PDI item).

Though I haven't experienced that with the Gemini, (yet) with our previous DP there were times that the wind hit those toppers just right, and they would flap and flutter all night, and even though they were side slides, would keep us up at night. I think its more or less the nature of the beast, and if you can re-park with a different orientation to the wind it may help, but that's not always possible.
