radio in 2016 Thor Axis 25.2

I know this will sound strange but we cant turn off the radio by the bed in our Axis. Our batteries have been running down requiring us to use the emerg start. We finally discovered the radio is on even when we hit the store button. We push the power button on the radio and it is still on. Anyone have a similar problem? Always an adventure owning a camper/motorhome. Thanks, AB

Hmm. The radio is run off from the coach batteries and not the chassis battery. Are you turning off the coach batteries when you use the store switch?

The radio by the bed IS run off the house batteries. Putting the USE/STORE switch to STORE will convince you of this.

However the front radio is run off the engine/chassis battery.

So, perhaps you have a Harris battery that has gone bad. Take it to a service shop and have it load tested.

On my 2 Thor units (2012 Thor Serrano 34M and 2018 Thor Chateau 24F) even the dash radio was run off from the house batteries. Neither unit had or has a bedroom radio.

Check the manual for that back radio, or access it online. The controls aren't intuitive. It will tell you how to turn the display off, too, which is good info.

My 2016 Vegas 25.2 turns the front radio off with the Use/Store button. If you continue to have issues with battery drain, you might install a cutoff switch on the house batteries. BTW, we have had zero problems with the stock (Harris) batteries, knock on wood.

Have you pressed and held the power button for 4 to 5 seconds to see if that turns it off?

Radio in 2016 Thor Axis 25.2

Yes have tried holding the button down for several seconds. Don't have a manual for this radio unless it is the same one for the front system that controls the backup camera. No don't have a cut off switch but did discuss having Camping World do this. After we got home from a trip last night we lifted the bed back(it slides out the back) there was a blue glow of the radio face even in STORE so we thought that might be our battery problem. Will try to find/look online for a manual for this radio or call Thor. Thank you all very much.

I found this over at the r-pod website. Maybe it'll help.

HA! Now that I saw the picture in soooo big, I finally saw the model of the radio and found the manual online here and this description:

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
The liquid crystal display (LCD) panel (4) displays the frequency, time and activated functions.
To adjust the brightness of the LCD, press and hold the VOL control to access the user menu.
Press the VOL control to step through the menu options. Rotate the VOL control to adjust the
LCD brightness from “LIGHT 1” (brightest) to “LIGHT 3” (least bright).
