Rainy day "music"
On our last trip, we drove in rain for parts of three days in our 2017 ACE 30.3. Every time it started raining, we would start getting a loud whistle coming from the front of the motorhome. As soon as it stopped raining, the whistle stopped. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you find out what causes it and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Yes, common problem with the ACE grille. If still under warranty Thor will supply a different grille. If not under warranty, add a screen to the inside of the grille which will also help keep the radiator cleaner.

I had the exact same problem with my 2017 29.3. Everybody thought I was crazy.. anyway. I was reading the forums about the units whistling while going down the road. It was the grill that was making that sound. I called Thor and they sent me the replacement grill fabric. Instead of replacing I put the new material in back of the original grill. I never had the whistling sound to begin with just the high pitch sound during rain. By adding the second grill it did stop the sound during rain. You might also check the hood locks, mine where somewhat loose, I tightened them up also so less play in the hood.

It whistles because there is no engine in there, instead there is all pedaling as fast as they can.

UPDATE on my "Singin' in the Rain" issue. Thanks to you guys for pointing me in the right direction (the grille). I called Thor this morning, they said it is a frequent issue with the ACE grille, and are going to ship me a new one. Thanks for all your help, even the tap-dancing penguin was a help.

Jamie, you might be on to something. There were fresh bird droppings on the windshield the next morning. Hopefully, Snow White and the Dwarves don't follow the birds' example.

Thor responded quickly. The new grille came today by UPS. However, there are no instructions with it - just the grille rolled up in plastic in a box. Have any of you guys installed this new grille and have suggestions? Thanks.

Never mind.. I e-mailed Thor (Jason), he responded immediately that all I have to do is unroll the new one, remove the old one and replace it with the new one using the same screws.
