Recall

I have a 2021 Thor Outlaw and just received a recall from Thor about a differential fluid problem which could cause serious problems. The recall as is written, in my opinion, has many contradictory statements which leaves me confused on what I should do. Anyone else finding it confusing and how are you handling it. Thanks

Have you called them for a clarification?

Why is diff fluid a Thor recall and not Ford?

There was a recall issued for 2021+ F53 chassis which is probably what your Outlaw has. It has to do with low fluid in the differential. Take it to a Ford dealer and they will top it up. Or DIY.

Lots of postings on iRV2/Ford Chassis subforum.

I would guess that the failures were being reported by RV owners, and Tbor got out in front of the ptoblem" before Ford did...

The recall letter came from Thor but yes it has to be taken care of by Ford.

You should have a notice by now from Ford, but if not, you need to call your dealer that services F53 chassis, get the recall parts (wheel bearings, seals) on order. Once in they will drain all your diff fluid, install new bearings and new fluid.
