Recharging A/C

Hi everyone.

New guy that bought an older 95 Thor 29.5.

Is there a way to recharge the coach A/C.

Just getting used to this RV.

It's in getting tires today.

Which A/C?

The one on the roof? No, not worth the expense.

The one on the engine? Yes, just like a car.

For what it's worth, I've heard good reviews about the Furrion Chill AC units (now owned by Lippert Components).

The YouTube channel "loveyourRV" has an install and review video.

Yes the one on the roof.
I can do the one under the hood no problem.

When you say it's not worth it, why is that?

So just purchase another one?

Cost to install access points for the gauges plus refrigerant on a 27+ year old unit. Even a 3 year old unit you're approaching the cost of a new unit.

Also the chance of the added saddle valves leaking with temper changes in the aluminum lines is about 60% (my guess). Thor Industries now owns Airxcel (Coleman).

Thanks for the replies, very helpful.
My current unit still works but will be replaced down the road.
