Recliners in a Thor Vegas 24.1

Has anyone put recliners or theater seating in their Vegas or Axis 24.1? We have a Vegas on the way next week. If so which brand.

Search the site, many discussions (and people who have done it).

The main Axis/Vegas mods 1.2.3 thread has a few people who have done it (although you'll have to go through a bit).

The main two sources seem to be Rec Pro RV Recliners and Shop4Seats (I believe Shop4seats is a little bit more expensive than Rec Pro).

We went the Shop4Seats route as I wanted the middle seating position to still be available.

Looks great, did you do the install and do you have a model number?

Ours is the Monaco Double Recliner in Chocolate Leather:
https://shop4seats.com/rv-furniture/...-recliner.html

I did not do the install but did check in on them from time to time (shop4seats also said that they needed to ship it to somewhere with a forklift to get it out of the truck).

I’m still on-the-fence for adding recliners.

However, that said...I really like the Shop For Seats product as you can have 3 seating options
1) a couch to take a nap on
2) two recliners with center console
3) three seats with belts for traveling

But, the SFS product that I want will be $2,000 (plus installation costs)
I’m not prepared to make that financial commitment

We're not on the fence, DW wants the recliners, nuff said. I can't do the install but we have a good RV mechanic that we trust to do a good job.

I was all about getting the recliners.
The 24.1 couch is evil.
But: we sit there for only five or so minutes to eat. When I move the drivers seat pedestal back an inch, so it clears the steering wheel cleanly, we'll likely almost never sit on that horrible couch and might even start using a table.

We lounge on the twin beds any other time. (we removed that dumb and redundant folding door.)
I've added USB plugs and 12v plugs and Alexa controls for the electric blankets and the center drawers keep niceties in them. The bed area let's us nest a bit more than recliners would.

If we get couch damage, we'll add the recliners but frankly the overhead TV doesn't make us happy.

I think the recliner is a super duper and inexpensive upgrade and I would have done it in a heartbeat. 2k seems expensive, but what did your home bed or couch cost? I'll bet it was more.
But
We found through vehicle usage that we just won't use the recliners.

Well our list of changes will include removing the "horrible couch" and adding recliners, don't know if anything can be done with the TV, already have 3" toppers for rhe rwin beds, satellite dome, we have the Dish receiver from the old coach. We'll have to pick up a small Blackstone griddle. I'll need to look at remotes for the overhead exaust fans and I'm sure the list will grow once we're in the coach. Delivery was delayed by a Ford recall on a wiring harness.

There's info on two types of remotes I installed on my fans.
Basically any 12v remote will work.
I think I paid five bucks and twelve bucks for those two.
Info is in my signature thread somewhere.
10 minute project.

I've also posted how to get the TV off of the over the door mount and links to the tilt swivel pullout TV mount I put there.
I'm not exactly happy with the mount, I have to fiddle with it too much. But it think any mount with three way adjustment will be the same.

Hello pmorris92223,
This is such a easy removal and install. If your recliner has a power option you need to add the electrical outlet behind the sofa (Jamie Geek mentioned that in his post). On mine 2015 Axis 24.1 the junction box was already there. Please check other posts. You will find plenty of helpfull info on the subject. Here are few photos from the project.Click image for larger version

My 2018 also has that junction box.
It's the only thing I needed Thor to fix.
A wire would short out during the last half inch of the slide going out.

That's the one I'd want.
We've also looked at home units which will fit, but if the one pictured above will recline with the slide in, I'll take it.

we're waiting for a call from the dealer that they've got the coach back from Ford and then the games can begin. I may have to restrain Kate's want list.

There is an android app called RVChecklist.
It has a huge pdi checklist to use during delivery.

I can't suggest it strongly enough.

Here's one to add to the list.
We have seen fridges in 24. 1 units which do not let the bathroom door fully open due to interference. Ours is fine but the other two we looked at had interference and wouldn't let the door latch onto the magnet.
Make them put in the right fridge if this is in your new rv.

Make sure the black tank swivel valve aligns with the hole in the bottom of the wet bay. Some don't.
We don't use our swivel and think it's kind of silly to diddle with putting the hose up through the bottom so we didn't care that ours won't align.

Check the front frame to cap Mounts.
They are angle pieces which screw to the frame and to the bottom edge of the cap to keep it in place and from 'broadening' during speed/wind.
Some are missing/misaligned.

Check the chrome on the grille. It's just plastic and warps badly.

Get two sets of keys at least. We've never found a place to make a couple of them and the blanks were 15 bucks....

Headlights need to be in straight, not angled.w3 vee a few with the headlight off by 10ndegrees or so.

Know that the wiper switch sucks and is not on the column stalk but far away to your left hand.

Make sure you have the table poles and two tables.

I think someone said the 2020 has agm....

Check the black tank vent pipe on the roof to make sure it actually pokes up above the roof.
Not the cap, the pipe.

Ac water runs all over with no set path. No worry. It just does.
Lift the passenger side bed and make sure the hoses are all hooked up.
There's going to be A long stupid wrap around, that's a makeshift tank heater and I appreciate it. Some people say their heater wasn't hooked to the duct.

Look inside the fridge door on the outside of the coach and make sure it's sealed up. Some have a big gap.

A spare tire fits easily and quite well into the rear most drivers side hatch to the basement. I was surprised whem someone on this forum said it would.

OK, it's more than one, but the 'member berries just wouldn't shut up....

Shop4Seats is in LaHabra, CA as I recall. You may be able to pick up what you pick out. We went with the theatre seating in our 2016 24.1. Happy with it.

Just talked to Shop4seats and they are sending me color samples. They don't have a showroom in La Habra any longer but they are still in La Habra and have moved to the top of my list.
