Refrigerator Question

Is it a common practice to turn off the rv refrigerator when refueling?

When we had one if it was running on propane it got turned off because you don't want the refrigerator to light a burner with fuel vapors around.

Electric, no kept it on.

It should be. I just did mod; so I don't have to run my propane fridge while driving anymore.

Before I did mod, I would try to turn it off every time but sometimes I forgot, I would say 80% of the time I turned off. Then of the 80% of the time I turned off 50% of the time, I would forget to turn back on. It was a PITA, but I fixed that problem

I don’t turn mine off even if it’s running on propane. For one thing it’s in the other side from the fuel filler and for another the amount of gas fumes is very small. So far so good.

I figure the guy at the pump across the lot holding a lit cigarette in one hand and a gas filler nozzle in the other will torch himself before me. However, I do try to keep the pump on opposite side from my fridge.

I’m with Pete’sMH.

My rig has the fuel on the opposite side as well.
So if I’m running it on propane, I don’t bother to turn off.

However, lately I’ve been traveling with my inverter on so I power the absorption fridge with 120 volts.
