Replacement mattress

I've scrolled the suggestions. I am curious when everyone suggests mattress toppers for replacement.
Is it to completely replace the mattress...as in use the topper as the main mattress? Or lay it on top/under the current mattress? I would think a 3" wouldn't be deep enough for comfort as a main mattress.
My Denver mattress came with our ACE and looks like egg shaped bodies were permanently molded into the bed and I'm concerned a memory foam would just reform into the egg shaped pockets if I placed it on top and used it as a true topper on it.

It looks as though many of you recommend the mattress insider mattresses.

Thanks for your time! I LOVE how this community is so helpful!

I bought a natural latex 2 inch topper for mine and it sleeps better than my mattress at home. If you get natural latex not memory foam it cost more but it’s not hot and no bed bugs ever. Just make sure you get real natural latex.

I agree. Replace the factory one. We purchased this one Amazon and love it! Be sure to measure ... you’ll probably need a short

Yeah, not impressed with the OEM Denver mattress - it seemed OK at first but now you have to work to roll over out of the depression your body makes in it. We'll be replacing ours with a new mattress this year. Trying to decide between the Elation and the new Aspen at MattressInsiders.com.

This is also in the running:

We bought a new mattress at a local manufacturer. That won’t help you in Arizona but check internet for local manufacturers.

Well this thread got me on the ball to replace the Denver mattress in our MH. I talked to MattressInsider about the difference between the the Elation and the new Aspen. They said the Aspen is a firmer mattress; 8/10 whereas the Elation was more like 6/10. The Elation also has a longer warranty (15 vs 10 years) and can be flipped to change the firmness.

So we bit the bullet and ordered the Elation with their "Groundhog" discount code of 5%. It's supposed to be here in 10 to 14 days with free ground shipping. I'll report back when we try it out.

We use a quality 2" topper from JC Penney and are quite happy with it. We've got 4 years on it now and still feels like new. We bought a king size and cut it to fit perfectly on our odd sized split folding mattress.

Mattress Insider is an awesome company. I needed a king size mattress for my Windsport. Many companies said you can return it on your dime if not happy. Some had no return policy at all. When I spoke to Sarah, she said if you don't like it, donate it to a Good Will or Salvation Army, provide the ticket from them and they give you 100% of your money back!!! That's a bold quarantee and she said in 5 years she has not seen one come back. We still have ours and it's almost as comfortable as our Temperpedic mattress at home. Don't know how you will make there mattress work with a Dallas mattress but if they make one, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!!!!! Bob Trice

Mattress Replacement

Go online. I found a place that makes custom mattresses where you can choose the width, length and depth as well as material you prefer. Easy Peasy. My fold out couch in the bus is foam that is 4 inches thick. I'm going to replace it with 5 inch. Very reasonable at less than $250.

Bought RV King from Michigan Discount Mattress. Very pleased. They custom cut to RV King dimensions. Biggest issue was getting large 13” mattress thru door. Tight fit.

I'll bet it felt like you were trying to wrestle a giant Manta Ray into a 10 gallon fish tank...

Handily, It came tightly rolled up, so at least it fit in the door. But overall you are correct, Bob - it was fairly heavy and bulky for the DW and I to coax in to bed😊
