RV Awning

I have a 2018 Venetian A40. I had my awning out and was sitting under it. All of a sudden it just fell down. Luckily I was there to catch it. It is a COC Lattitude that comes straight out. How do I fix it so that it stays up? Didn’t get any paperwork when I bought the coach

Just fell down? Did any of the arms bend? Did it pull out of the side of the RV? I suspect it will take some RV service to get it put back together.

There have been the odd post on here once in a while where someone's brand new RV's awning just pulled out of the side of the RV..it does happen.

It did not pull out of the side of the motor home. I don’t think the arms bent. It looked like maybe something is not tight. There are set screws and bolts. I think the set screws are for adjusting pitch. Wandering if the bolts were never tightened

In a way, then, that is good as you just have to figure out how to put it all back together and tighten things down.

Mine is the carefree, last time we were out, it kept making popping noises, sometimes on it way out or in, sometimes just in a light breeze. Dealer found the bolts etc in the front support arm, were very loose and would have come out, causing a collapse. Glad to have caught that before that happened.

here's a Thor video on how to tighten different awning types.

Venetian is around the 3 minute mark.

Hope it helps.

They are great videos for adjusting pitch. I really wish these guys would quit making jokes. When I have a problem it is no joking matter. My pitch is fine. It will not stay up. I am camping this weekend. Tightened every screw and bolt and it still fell down an hour later. It is fully extended when it falls down and luckily I stay outside just in case or it would fall and hit the side of the motor home

Here are the links for your awning from Carefree fo Colorado. You might want to call the factory on Monday and get some tech. help.
