We've been with AARP - The Hartford for about 3 years. They've been solid with claims, easy to reach and best of all - fairly priced.

Hartford has always been a solid Company; I'm just not thrilled with their AARP program.
But if it's working for you:

They've been excellent and were the lowest cost. They've inched up a few $s each and I requote. They still remain the least expensive.

Least expensive our agent had was Progressive, less than 500.00 a year.

I switched a few years ago from Allstate to National (via Good Sam). Big drop in premium.

Florida Insurance

We are retiring from Delaware to Florida next week (Ocala area). I'm looking for a package deal for the house cars and RV any suggestions?

We have USAA for auto insurance (and banking) and Progressive for our full-timers RV insurance. You could always try one of the major insurers like State Farm, Allstate, GEICO, etc. as they almost always have package deals.

What's wrong with that?
Aren't Insurance Companies entitled to make money?

RV Insurance

Perhaps you ought to contact an insurance Broker in order to get competitive pricing.

Florida insurance is an interesting bird... I couldn't find one company that would insure everything for a variety of reasons...

My cars are USAA - intent was to use them for everything once I got settled... and were first things transferred.. (They didn't write auto in Michigan - so was new to them...)
They wouldn't write the MH policy - referred to Progressive - not competitive rates/coverage for what I wanted... Ended up with Safeco for the MH...
Then we bought the house... USAA wouldn't write the House policy - over-extended in the zip code - referred to another third party... after a bunch of gyrations with multiple companies ended up with Citizens (FL only company) based on plumbing materials of all things, etc...
Of course Citizens won't write liability at 300K on a house - so needed a 'gap policy' to cover the 100-300K difference that liability umbrella requires... Only one company in US appears to provide that... Mount Vernon.
And then USAA wouldn't write the umbrella either - because they didn't have the home... so yet another company...

Biggest increase in expense with move from MI to FL...
Eventually will get things sorted and consolidated - but will still be expensive.

And if you aren't familiar with 'hurricane deductibles'... standard seems to be 2% the insured value for damage from a named storm...

Above that - be sure you get sufficient uninsured/underinsured coverage here on your auto/MH... You can 'stack' the coverage for multiple vehicles with same company... Too many people running around with 'minimums' which only gives you 10K for medical if they hit you! (I fortunately listened to the advice and had excess for my insurance to pick up where the at fault drivers dropped off when hit last year...)

Welcome to Florida! The weathers nice..

I used to bundle everything. I had Allstate for almost 20 years and had my home, 2 cars and the motor home with them. I liked the idea of dealing with one company and having a local agent. My agent then hired an incompetent secretary who screwed everything up. It was a nightmare. I shopped around and found I could save almost $2k a year by spreading my business around. I also wound up getting better coverage. I live on Long Island, 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Hurricane deductibles are a fact of life here. My current company doesn't have one. I don't know why, they just don't. It's a company from Rhode Island too. They should know a thing or two about hurricanes. The only aggravation was that they insisted on an inspection and they did it from top to bottom. They even inspected my dogs to make sure they weren't vicious. That change saved me over $900 and they increased my coverage by $50K. A change from Allstate to USAA saved me another $1050 and the coverage was the same. I kept my motor home with Allstate because no one else even came close to them, even though I lost the bundling discount. It's just not worth it to bundle your insurance. A few bucks extra for the convenience would be ok with me but we're talking about thousands. For that kind of money I'll do a little footwork.

That's funny : I bundled all of my coverages with Safeco...
Auto
Home
Umbrella
RV
Motorcycle

I ended up saving almost $1200 over the costs of what they were separately!
(And I've got the time to check this out! I'm an Independent Insurance Agent.

Varies by where you are...

SafeCo asked if they could quote my homeowners (they have the RV). I said sure... and the price looked good - until I reviewed the coverage. By the time I matched the coverage to what I had, it "no looked so good" anymore...
As an example, they capped water damages from a plumbing leak at $10K... That would be a drop in the bucket (pun intended) of any significant damage from a leak.

I quoted the RV with others when moving from National General (rewarded a claim free year of coverage with 20% increase) - and while I could find cheaper - the 'replacement coverage' and agreed value I wanted weren't there...

Read carefully, ask questions, compare coverage and price... consider service reputation... and get the best deal you can.
