Question Chassis Battery Charging

Is there an easy location to hook up a trickle charger to a chassis battery for a Vegas motorhome? I would prefer not to open up the dash from the top and connect. I can't seam to reach the battery from the front end.

Has anyone added a secondary set of battery terminals for easy charging access (Negative ground I can pickup anywhere)?

On the Axis it's a pain, but it can be done from the front. I'm not sure for the Vegas. I was able to loosen the battery clamps with a one-handed gymnastics/stretching routine. Then I was able to pull the cable ends far enough forward to install a disconnect switch.

I'll do the same to attach permanent leads for the cool new solar charger my wife bought me for Christmas.

Access is easier if you remove the two fresh air ducts and tuck them back out of the way. Don't forget to replace them when done.

Let us know if this works on the Vegas.

Regards,

Randy

I have attached a cable with a plug such as what comes with the Battery Tender brand maintainer. One end of the cable, which has a fuse and fuse holder on the + lead is attached to the battery cables and the other end is positioned where it can be easily accessed. You might have to extend the length of these cables and if you do, be sure the fuse is very close to the battery.
