We were afraid of that sad little bathroom vent cover.
So
We bought the 'fancy' cover.
It also keep out rain allowing you to not worry if you've left the vent open.

https://www.amazon.com/Maxxair-503-1...t=ELECTRIC_FAN
Please notice the outstanding Amazon deal of 6 for the price of 10. Maybe we can do a group buy

It was an extremely easy installation and erased all concern.

See post 116 in my signature thread for a super easy $12 bathroom fan wireless remote control. One controller is on the sink, one on the toilet paper dispenser.

I've had a similar experience with wind gusts causing the cheap stock vent covers to lift. Plus, the ridiculous little "computer cooling fans" are a joke.

We have four vents, two of which (bathroom and kitchen) have the cheap little fans. The other two (overhead bunk and bedroom) are just unpowered vents.

My plan is to replace the entire vents in the bedroom and kitchen with these:
https://www.amazon.com/Maxxair-00-05...B8/ref=sr_1_3?

The bathroom is small, so I'm leaving the fan alone in there... BUT add the VERY affordable vent cover over it as suggested by Duck. Then add another cover over the overhead bunk vent.

My logic is that we boondock a lot. We would LOVE to leave the roof vents open at night even if it's raining. With the addition of the powered MaxxFans, I would run them on low... one as an intake; the other as exhaust - for a nice breeze/ventilation. The powered fans use VERY little current.

As soon as I find roughly $500 laying around, that's my plan!

But as a budget friendly solution, you just can't beat what Duck suggested!!

Wasn't it you who previously stated... some people aren't smart enough to dump pee out of their boot?

My junior year of high school a very wise English teacher, with the stature of a Julie Newmar/Ann Miller cross(but prettier/specimen than either) would set aside a day every three weeks or so and invite wise, and very old, pioneers and farm folk to speak all day. No captains of industry, not the Mayor, not the banker, just old guys with fists like mallets and calluses like hobnails.

One of them used this phrase, just once. It took my 15year old self a few years to winnow the meaning, then a few more to realize the meaning, then a few more to understand the meaning.

I have since modernized it a bit and adapted it to fit delicate social circles.

'Some people think that 7 in front of their IQ means they're lucky'

Been RVing since the 1980s and have never lost a roof vent to the wind. However, I have lost quite a few, and a couple of plumbing vent caps, to the sun.

Scubawise are you still in the Padre Island area? I was looking at that area on Maps... and told my wife to put that on our bucket list!! Fantastic... looks like several miles of free beach boondocking? Am I correct? What am I missing?

If it starts getting windy: just crank them down...
But we have installed some Max-Air covers over ours...
That way: we can leave them open during rainy days...

I have been in extremely high winds and never had any issues. I take them off periodically to clean them. They replace easily and they are a plus keeping the weather out. I am very happy I have them. I also treat them with 303 to fight the ultraviolet rays.

Never! It's good to have one on the "head" vent hatch.
