RV propane regulator

We bought a Weber grill from Camping World. It works fine on bottled gas, but when I use the adapter hose from the RV the flame is not very high. They have a regulator off the main propane tank to the grill supply line, plus on the grill there is a regulator, I’m pretty sure one of them has to go, but not sure which one. Maybe the RV one? Any thoughts?

The one on the grill has to go. You need the RV regular to stay in place for your RV heater, Hot Water tank, Stove, Frig.

Your grill, when connected to the RV port, is running off of gas that's already been "regulated" by the one on the coach tank. If you use an independent 20# bottle away from the coach system, you will need to run the gas through regulator that came with the grill. Only one regulator is needed.

If you can’t find a valve that doesn’t have a regulator, and on some grills they are hard to find, you can use a ball valve. Check the size of your fittings, go to the hardware store and purchase a 1/4” gas ball valve and the necessary fittings to adapt to your coach. A little time consuming but not hard to do.

I have an older Magma Grill, so old it had lava rocks. I love this grill but wasn’t able to find a valve without a regulator. I adapted a gas ball valve and have been using my grill for many years with no problems.

I had the same issue. I ended up buying a hose on amazon. Remove the hose from your bbq, look at the the fitting on the bbq. Buy a hose that screws into the bbq and the other end a quick disconnect fitting to plug into the fitting on your motorhome.Keep the old hose in case you want to use your 20lb bottle later. Remember to use plumbers tape on the bbq end.

So in essence, one regulator- one control valve- one orifice- to burner assy.

Grill adaptor

I ordered the kit in the link below. A little pricey but worked perfectly. Took about 15 minutes to remove the Weber Q regulator and install this adaptor. The kit has everything needed and the grill works. It took about 5 days to receive it, shipped from Oregon to Florida.

Weber Q RV Quick Connect Kit - propanegear
