RV Purchase & Painting

I recently found a diesel pusher for sale at a really low price but saw that the exterior was in terrible condition. Anybody got a good handle on a real quality exterior paint job on a large RV? I wonder what the paint job in the attached picture cost. Should a 2011 RV be relaminated or just repainted?

Instead of painting why not look into wrapping it. You can choose colors, designs or logos. Painting a full class A could cost a lot of money.

thanks Bob. It needs some body work before anything else so I figured that then a paint job. A wrap over screwed up body is not my way, although I have been known to don a light jacket to cover a beer belly. LOL

But yes, Make it great Again!

Have the body work done, then get it wrapped. You could be biden your time to find the right paint shop.

What do you think a great wrap on a 40' RV might cost? I got an estimate for partial on an Explorer 5 years ago and it was $3,000. I'm thinking a full wrap might cost upwards of $15,000.

Whatever it costs: it'll be less than a full-on paint job.

Are there good accents and plumbing fixtures? Could be a good way to subsidize the cost.....
Why not call a paint shop that paints RVs?

It needs a Bumper Sticker:
"My other RV is Air Force One"

That’s an idea. I was thinking this one would get me good parking and no questions asked.

Maybe check with your local diesel truck dealership (Freightliner, Kenworth, etc.) and see if they have a body/paint shop and will give an estimate. You could also check with RV insurance and see who they use in your area.

You should have bought the motorhome a little earlier. The Trump campaign probably would have paid if you had it painted like in the photos. To late now since we are so close to the election.

Well, if he doesn't get reelected he could try for a second in 2024. On the other hand, if he gets reelected and follows Xi Jinping's lead of being president for life (a move which he admired) there wouldn't be a need for that paint job.

Probably need epa to check for contamination first.
I once got an estimate to paint a 30’ RV, was $30,000
Problem is finding a shop with a large enough paint booth.
Better sell it fast recommend before November 3

I would not change a thing! However, seriously, I am renovating a 1995 Thor Residency and I was told it would be $20,000.00 just to "wrap" all of it with the sole exception of the roof!

The picture included with this comment was the inspiration for the color choices/theme.

I am now considering doing it all myself for about $500 total which includes "sweat equity."Click image for larger version
