You probably should be anal about the black tank but no need for the gray tank.

On a more serious note I don't worry about flushing the black tank until I finish a long trip and then plan to store my rig for more than a few weeks. Otherwise I just dump, flush a few tankfuls for water and drain a second time.

Since my Airstreams came with black tank flushes 25 years ago, I have always double flushed my tanks twice with the valve closed. I monitor the level on the readout and stop the water just before full. That way I get a large volume of fluid and the law of gravity to push the waste out of the tank. However, as mentioned before, you have to be right on the job all the time during the flushing to prevent any overflows. The same holds true with my Tuscany.

I know the manual also states to have the valve open when using the flush. Why is beyond my comprehension because if you do you have barely any flow coming out.

I leave mine closed and monitor my tank gauge. Once the 2/3 LED comes on I go outside and open the dump valve. That way I have plenty flow and velocity to flush out anything. Then I leave the flush on for a while to rinse the hose out before opening the grey tank drain valve.

That makes a whole lot more sense to me and never caused any issues.

I add dish soap, and keep the valve shut until I get "about" 10 gallons or so of sudsy water in it. Then I drain it, and keep running the San-T-Flush {filling & draining"; until I see no suds in the water.

All I can figure is if the black tank vent is plugged and water is being pumped into the tank it might cause damage. So the best bet is to keep everything closed and run the flush and when it's 3/4 full look down the toilet, if your face turns brown you have a blocked vent lol

If it’s that hard to clean your black tank you need to change your diet or just eat Tide Pods. 😂

Camco RV Flexible Swivel Stik with Shutoff Valve - Creates Powerful Cleaning Action that Dislodges and Flushes Stubborn Waste Deposits and Combats Odors (40074), 55-1/2 Inch

I use this. 1st drain the black tank, then stuff the Swivel Stik down the toilet bowl, and turn on the water. Work slowly in and out of the tank, until I hear the spinning nozzle hit something hard. Does a good job of cleaning the tank interior.

Available with a straight rigid wand, if your black tank is located directly under the toilet.

Would someone have a guesstimate on how long it takes to fill the black tank via the sani-flush?

I believe the black tank on our 2020 Compass 23TW is 19 gallons.

I waited 20 minutes and the level did not even reach 1/3 full.

Prior I had been using the bathroom sink and noticed the black tank level on the monitor was full.

I may need to have the dealer check it again.

Cheers!

I guess that depends on your water source.

Garden hose with 50-60 psi.

I have a meter now for the garden hose so next time I dump I should be able to check.

Warranty runs out next month, will have the dealer check it anyway.

Thanks

My flush takes forever before it comes out of the hose after I'm done dumping. I think your is like mine it would take forever

Heaven forbid you have a recreation of the "Suez Canal incident" in your black tank! That can REALLY back up the works!
