Well we are home from a 10 day long journey, our first in our coach. Handling was pretty good, I have a Safety-T-Steer installed as well as fresh alignment. Fuel usage was a little better than I expected, about 7-7.5 mpg. Now the issues...the park we were heading to is an electric only state park in Iowa. Our water pump stopped functioning during the initial leg from home. Stopped at a small RV shop in St. Joe, MO and a tech looked at it for 30 minutes and was able to determine no power was getting to the pump. Made a jumper with fuse and spliced it into the pump hot wire from battery compartment, worked fine. Found that it is controlled by a relay, which I found today with one wire pulled out of the spade terminal..easy fix. Coming home, a carload of kids in Missouri chunked an egg at the side of the MH and it was a mess. Found it at a gas stop about 15 mins after it happened, so was able to get most of it off..
All was fine until the next day coming south through the Arbuckle mountains in Oklahoma and a thunderstorm materialized right in front of us with torrential rain and at least 50 mph gusts across the freeway. Pulled off right before the wind hit and we sat rocking for about 10 minutes (felt like 30!). Crazy weather, we have several weather apps that do a good job of notifying us of warnings, but this was too sudden. After the rain slowed down and we took off, found a little water running across floor towards the back. Guess it blew in around the slides on the left side. All in all a good trip, no major issues with the MH. FYI, the WinStar RV park in Thackerville, OK is very nice!!
