My Outlaw had a "special" sewer hose bay; in which a bare hose of exactly 3" would barely fit...
Put any sort of fitting on it, and it was only good for storing fly-fishing poles!

I bought the Rhino extreme (two 10 ft sections) last year, and was mostly happy with it’s performance. No leaks, and I like the end caps provided. I stored it along with the attachments in a plastic bag in the sewer compartment, coiled around the valves. NOT an elegant solution, and a pain to pull everything out at set up, and cram it back in when breaking camp.

This spring I finally mounted a 5x5 inch PVC fence post under the rig, just behind the hitch, using hose clamps. Tried a 4x4 inch fence post, but couldn’t get the Rhino extreme inside it.

The new holder is just barely long enough to hold one of the 10 ft sections of sewer hose, and none of the attachments (planning to keep those in the sewer compartment). Wish I could fit a longer holder under the rig, but couldn’t find room for more than 40 inches of holder without compromising access or clearance. Still, it feels like an improvement over the plastic garbage bag I was using.

My problem with the Rhino extreme is that it has gradually uncoiled, and won’t shrink back down for storage. All stinky, no slinky! Has anyone else had this problem? Is there another type of hose that holds its recoil better?

Thanks!

How about a picture of the "fence post" solution?

What is that setup; and why is it the best?

Send me a picture of your compartment where you hook up the sewage hose

Here you go! The whole thing is mounted underneath the rv, right behind the hitch, and running side to side. I left the fence post open on the end that butts up to the back of the sewage compartment (cut to fit around the grey water pipe). Other end is closed with a fence post cap. Tethered with a length of chain so I don’t lose it, and fastened with two clasps.

I can kneel down by the hitch and reach under the back and unfasten it without having to crawl under the rig

I originally used cable ties to hold it in place (couldn’t find a U bolt big enough, and didn’t want to drill holes in the frame). The cable ties didn’t seem secure enough, so I added a couple of hose clamps...

I debated running the fence post lengthwise instead of side to side, and placing it next to the generator, but was nervous about putting plastic so close to the generator.

Have to say this was not an original idea, but gleaned from other posts on this forum!
