Can anybody tell me if this is the correct way to install shunt to bus bar?

Yes it is- note that the shunt may have "BAT" on the post for the B- cable, as your diagram suggests.
Be sure to use the proper cable gauge.
Diagram is from my Tellaro- shows the shunt wiring just as a reference.

Thank you for that

I feel like a dummy asking this....how to you disconnect the battery to to install busbar from 6 volt batteries

Do I just disconnect the chassis ground to close the circuit?

To save cable I mounted my shunt directly on the battery negative post. I also mounted a catastrophic fuse directly to the positive post.

Yes- B- or ground disconnect is a recommended practise to work on the system. I also agree with adding a breaker/fuse on the B+ side- go with your max amp draw and add 20% to size the fuse is typical.

Well you could use s negative buss bar, but isn't that what the metal chassis does?

Well yes, however
Reason 1.clean up battery bay

2 battery cables are 5/16
Shunt are 3/8

3 easier just to get 2 ,2awg jumpers 3/8 to 5/16 from shunt back to battery cables.

Oh by the way
It's a miramar 2018 37.1

With 4 6volt batteries agm 220 amp-hours each..
Yes I know the 50 % usage.

570 solar watts,60 amp mppt

Xantrex 2000 inverter

With a (yet to install )pd9260) I hope that helps my slow charging

When boondocking in so cal desert (we do alot)

This system gets me through the night (residential frig, etc.)

With grandkids tv ,satellite, lights are constantly on (working on that)

I do run a portable 3400 generator to help out in the evenings for about 3 hrs [trying to minimize the hrs on my onan 5500)

Noise is not a issue since it's only4/5 trailers,rv out with out with us
