Side Mirror Cameras?

We just bought the Vegas 24.1 this week. I noticed yesterday that there are cameras under both side mirrors. I can't find any documentation on them anywhere. Are they just for show?

Video should show up on your display with turn signal.

No, they should work.

The cameras are supposed to come on when you put on the turn signal.

Yes. There's a video switch under the panel on the dash behind the steering wheel

I keep meaning to figure out how to disable them on on my 24.1, they're pretty terrible if you use your head unit for navigation (I use google maps via CarPlay). The head unit takes 5-15 seconds to switch the screen back to maps. When trying navigate in town or through a complicated interchange I'm typically forced to avoid signaling lane changes whenever possible so I can continue to see the route.
Let me know if you figure out why yours aren't working so I can make mine also not work

Totally agree with you on them being useless. By the time they come on I already checked my mirrors and completed my turn or lane change, then I have to wait several seconds for the display to get back where it was. Most annoying is that they interrupt the radio sound.

All you have to do to disable them remove the turn signal trigger wires from the switcher box.

I replaced my Axxera stereo and the cameras switch quicker with the new stereo. I still don’t use them like it thought I would but the mirrors work well.

If you remove the dash cover over your speedometer on my 2017 Vegas you will see a small bright metal box with 3 cameras connected and a power connector on it, the box is labeled if I remember correctly "Multiplex" the 3 camera connectors are left, right, and backup. You could remove the power connector or 3 right and left camera connectors if you want to disable the turn signal cameras. When my left signal camera quit the turn signal still worked but the camera didn't and the clicker located in the speedometer housing didn't work either. The multiplexer had a cold solder joint inside. I heated it up and everything worked for the summer. I replaced my Axera radio when the touch screen died and my new radio works fine and the delay on the turn signal cameras is much less than originally. I wrote up the problem while I was trying to find it on the forum but got 0 replies.

replace the Axxera radio with a Kenwood, much better sound and added a 10" monitor on the dash for the camera. Clearer view of both backup and side cameras, now have Apple Carplay (or goggle) and the view switching doesn't mess with my navigation..
