Slide will not extend

Any idea why my slide won't extend in my 2017 THOR Hurricane? Battery shows full charge when I check it on the panel. Inverter shows 12.7v when I turn it on. It starts to move but then stops in like a second. Generator is running, switch is on use...any ideas anyone?

THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTORS ON A 2021 ALREADY? Just goes to show you how much of a piece of crap THOR MH are! I tried the 6 pushes of the button no joy, not sure how to reset the module....

So we need to get down to basics and need more information....

When was the last time the slide worked?

Does your coach require the engine to be running?

Do you hear the motors trying to turn at all?

Is there an error code flashing on the slide controller?

Many of the slides have mutiple interlocks, which include:

1) Battery Voltage Lock - If there is not enough voltage at the house batteries to fully power the motors, the Voltage Lock won't release.

2) Parking Brake Lock

3) Ignition Lock - Engine must be running to provide a boost to the house batteries to reach the minimum voltage to relase the Voltage Lock.

The motors are not Thor's; they are LCI's. Thor MC is just the installer of the slide kits. Most of the gas coaches from all manufactures use the same system. The instructions for the in-wall slides are on-line or available on the Forum by search. That said the slide controller will indicate the problem with the side by flashing green and red LED. The main slide controller is located in the top of a basement compartment under the center of the slide. Bedroom slide's controller is under the bed in the electrical compartment. The error codes a listed on the front of the slide's controller. Let us know what the LEDs are flashing and we will see if we can help. By the way, calm down, we are here to help if you will let us.

Do it again, 6 pushes and hold on the 7 until the lights start blinking in cycle then go and retract or extend your slide.

You don't say which 2017 Thor Hurricane you have? If it is 29M or if you want a 29M Hurricane, sell it and look up poster name HalfPrice who is looking to sell one. His is loaded with mods and Upgrades. You may get a better perspective of TMC and and certainly be happier with the coach.

There is also a manual override to extend and retract the slides. Have you tried. Sadly I learned that trick while shopping around for a TMC and few times slides would not work and the Salesman seemed helpless. They never could figure out what I did with that pen in the lower bay with the controller, but it worked every time.

We have a 2017 hurricane also. Do you have levels down? Is you slide controller in need of a reset? If so clear it. Your inverter is off if you have generator on.

I had the same problem with my full slide a while back and after I finally found the controller (in a storage unit UNDER the slide ) I did the manual override and it has not failed me since. Let us know.

Me too. Sometimes twice in the same day! Manufacturers don’t care so it’s always expensive.
