Smoke Detector in a Thor RV

I was messing around RV, decided to check less than year old smoke detector installed by thor. dead!!! OEM Duracell, ha, never seen that. And the smoke detector must be a 2.99 special. I had already installed couple new ones before but come on! This one going in the trash!

Check your detectors!

Fire department recommends changing battery twice a year when the time changes.

In the five years we had the Challenger we never had an issue with the smoke detectors. Changed batteries the beginning and end of every season.

May be cheap but the question is does it work with a good battery installed?

It never beep letting us know it was craping out. Maybe it did when our Rig was in the shop for 7 months, ha!

Threw that POS in the trash and replaced. I do property management so have cases of smoke/carbon detectors and Lithium batteries that last for 5 years!

It did work with new battery but replaced with nice first alert!

The one in our current rig gave us the battery beep after 2 months of ownership. Who knows how long batteries sit at the manufacturer before they are used.

Does anyone know if the propane detector in a Thor Challenger is designed to read Carbon Monoxide as well. Its mounted low to the floor under the dinette.
