We do not boondock very often, but when we know we are going to
I have two Honda 2000i generators that I bought used for about $700
each. I have the adapter for runner both together giving me 4000 watts
of starting power and they will run my A/C.

I carry them and the 5 gallon can of gas in the bed of my truck strapped
down so they do not move around.

Excellent set-up. Look into the B.E.R.G.S. extended run fuel system for those Hondas. Eliminates having to refuel often...runs all day and all night on a bigger fuel tank that feeds both generators at same time.
