Solar Tax Credit?

Just wondering if anyone out there has successfully claimed a solar tax credit on their federal tax return? 30% through the end of 2019, if I understand correctly, and I believe an RV qualifies as a "dwelling unit", and does NOT have to be a fulltime residence...

While waiting for my accountant to weigh in on this, I thought I would see if any forum members had first-hand experience with this.

It will throw up a red flag with the IRS quicker than an old man can fart. Expect an audit.

The solar system I am planning on installing this year will cost me about $500 in supplies + 6-8 hours of my expensive labor.

So, 30% of $1000 (+/-) = $300 credit

I ain’t worried ‘bout an audit for a lousey $300 tax credit

PS. My home solar system installed in 2015 was nearly $30k. And that $10k tax credit didn’t flag an audit. So I doubt that a lousey $300 will unless the IRS finds out I voted for Trump

i got my credit for the house solar also no problems.

This is an interesting idea through. Since interest paid on rv loan can be a write off you would think the parts and labor from an installer would be good to qualify for the tax break

Would need to look at the language in the tax code
