Storage Question

Is it better when storing coach for a month or two to park on grass, gravel, or concrete in regards to tires?
Thank you,

I would think it's probably more important to make sure they are inflated properly...
But avoid parking on the lawn: concrete OR gravel should provide a more stable surface.

If one was concerned with the osituation of the tires on hard asphalt or concrete, one could carry 2"x8" boards to "drive up on when parking.

When we first got our fifth wheel, I went and bought a barn stall mat (very heavy rubber) to put under the wheels when we traveled. I cut them in 1 foot and 5 foot lengths (5-footers for the tandem axles) and about 8 inches wide. However, the first time I used them I noted that they would "sink in" when pulled up on. The only real benefit of these rubber pads would be that the tires were in contact with other rubber rather than concrete or asphalt.

I eventually gave my barn stall rubber mats away as I wasn't using them anyway.

Thank you,
It doesn't matter and if you read your manuals Thor and Ford usually recommend that the coach be driven once a month in order to bring components such as engine and transmission up to operating temperature.

I suggest you also read the manuals to determine the manufacturers recommendations on how to store your rig.

My rigs have been stored with steer axle on asphalt and drive axle on pea stone for years and I haven't had a problem with either. Keep in mind that unless they are in the shade hard surfaces such as asphalt and concrete may get very hot in the summer.

As Bob noted, inflation is the key, do not store them underinflated

Nowadays tires are not as susceptible to flat spots or other issues from the past, but if concerned park on wooden planks & don't fret it.
