Suggestions for stuff sewer connection Axis 24.1

Hi , Does anyone have any suggestions for making the twisting down of the sewer connector on an axis 24.1 easier? This is our second season and it seems to be getting harder and harder to twist it down. Or Maybe we're just getting older and weaker ha ha .

Sandy

Try spraying it with PB Blaster

Ours took 3 seasons before it loosened up enough to be movable.

I loosened the flg., turned down in dump position, tightened it up and it has been there ever since. One less thing to do when dumping. Works great that way. YMMV.

Try spraying with silicone or loosening the screws very slightly.

There's no way I was going to twist the tube down for dump and up for travel (wasted effort IMO). So for the last couple years I've left it down in the dump ready position. Put a dixie bowl in the round hole to help keep stuff tossed from the rear wheels out of the compartment.

Finally I got rid of the bottom ring assembly, with those screws just waiting to rip up my hands during hookup. Printed a better bowl to perform the same purpose in the bare hole. There's really no reason to have that screw in plug for a tight seal when there's so many other huge holes cut for the plumbing.

Thanks Ty, great ideas , I think this is the direction we will go. My husband and I grumble about those screws as well, perhaps slightly more than a grumble. I think we would all agree dumping is the least fun RV job and is made worse by these wicked screws. Nothing like having open cuts and wounds around human waste disposal... Not a well thought out system by Thor.
