Sun Shade

We have a 2019 Thor Compass 24TF on a 2017 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 chassis. We would like to purchase an insulated sun shade for the front and side windows, preferably one that wraps around the outside so heat never enters the cab. We bought one designed for a Ford RV cab from Amazon, but it is too small and won’t fit over the top rear corners of the doors. Has anyone purchased sun shades for this motor home, whether using inside or outside components? I’ve tried searching the web, but can’t find a good match. All suggestions are much appreciated.

We own a 2019 Compass 23 TR on a Ford chassis. I bought Magne Shades. They're custom made for your chassis. Expensive - yes. But work really well.

We made our own, and they work (and look) great!

Looks too expensive. Thanks though.

Really liked the BougeRV windshield cover for its quality, but it didn’t fit a Sprinter. I’ll try the ADCO windshield cover next. Seems like it might fit a Sprinter. If not, might have to make some adjustments. We favor putting something outside to block infrared from passing through the windshield and side windows. The homemade inside curtains and screens would likely work too, but we are looking for simple and relatively inexpensive.

I bought this one, I have the 2020 mercedes chassis and it fits perfectly… it is good quality, heavyweight and costs a fraction of others.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001A7RP32...roduct_details

Put one corner on first, wrap around the windshield and then when you get second side around VERY SLIGHTLY open second door while standing outside and pull it gently over corner and push door shut. It is a tight fit but that’s how it stays tight on windshield and doesn’t flap in wind.

Thanks for the guidance. If the one on order fails, I’ll definitely try this one.

I also bought a roll of reflectix and made an inside sun screen. I use it when doing short stops plus I put it up even when I use outside one.

Every little thing helps in Florida sun…

My former RV was a Thor Synergy on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis. We bought Remi Shades for it and absolutely loved them. Absolute privacy, attractive and awesome at blocking thermal. Go buy the really easy to use good stuff. Pricy but you will be so glad you did. We bought ours from Winnebago Parts department and they shipped them to our Thor dealer who installed them before we picked up the new coach. All done it was I think around $1,000-$1,200. Well worth it.

I did the same as Flwestcoast - bought a roll of Reflectix at the hardware store, cut pieces to size and then we press them into place against the two side windows and the windshield of our 2016 Citation (Sprinter chassis). We just roll them up when not in use and secure the rolled-up pieces with a small bungee cord; they travel in the overhead bunk when we’re on the road. It would be nice to have something more sleek, but having a retrofit blind installed is $$$. That’s in the “maybe someday” category!

Sun Shades

I bought Weather Tech and not only do they work great, but their customer service is fabulous. I had some separation occur with the layers, air formed between and after contacting WT, I have a new one on the way. These are internal BTW.

You want to block the heat from entering the interior. Putting reflective stuff on the inside helps a little. But it still allows heat to enter and build inside. We had Sun Shades custom made to our coach. Attach on the outside. These block the sun/heat from entering to begin with. A good investment.

Try high-end-motorsports.com website.

They sell custom fit shades and we really like the set we ordered for our Quantum sprinter coach
