Always full or close to full fuel. Unit rarely sits more than 2 weekends in a row. Track trips always fill before arrival, same with campgrounds. Refuel at 1/2 tank maximum on road. Stretch legs nice at 250/300 miles.

Water same, always fill when get home or leave campground.

Black/grey tanks empty whenever possible.

Unit serves to tow race trailer to track, visit kids, camping trips and as hurricane or other emergency escape vehicle. Has also served as hotel room for visiting teenagers.

At 6 years fridge always on (defrosted twice) stocked, propane at least 2 lights (7 refills) and ready to use during power failure.

I do not use any stabilizer but unit does get Seafoam in tank every summer and any excess pump premium from racecar over 2 weeks old. If unit sits 2 weeks, gets moved and generator cycled.

From my records, gearing on e450 seems to keep in 10 mpg range whether 5300 lb trailee behind it or not. Carry a lot of race spares all the time. Spare parts been to Disney more than most people.

Me neither, but then my "store" is for a short period of weeks, 2 months at the most. More like it's parked not stored as we use it frequently.

I have fuel stabilizer but seldom/close to never use it.
I've fired off 20 year old gas. It didn't like it much but it didn't hurt it at all.

I should use the Stabil more often, but I won't
And
Some of my stabil is probably 20 years old, so there's that.

The zr2 clogged ths #5 injector about 4 times in 15 years. A bottle of fuel additive fixes it every time.

Mine's always full when in storage. I like it being ready to go, and also would rather have the expense at the end of a trip than the beginning. I've never used fuel stabilizer and never had an issue. When traveling, I start looking to fill when it gets down to around a quarter tank.

Top tier Diesel fuel is treated at the terminal and refinery

Gasoline the same

Small engines often have poorly designed fuel systems and benefit from products like Stabil

Because of low Sulphur fuel lacking lubricity i do use Fuel additives

I keep it full at home and never go below 1/2 on the road. If fuel is less in the state I'm camping I will fill up there and top off at home, so I'll be ready for the next camping trip

Are you talking to yourself again? You might need to get that checked out

I am all aboard with all that fill up when I return from trip. When I leave, I always have a reference price as I exit Dallas. If I see a really good price on a published sign or billboard I will pull in a top it off. I will even cross the freeway to get to it. My logic (despite being cheap) is to reward the guys that can sell the gas for less. I never get to less than a 1/4 tank (and I have been known to buy more gas when already 3/4 tanks full)

I returned home Saturday evening with 1/3 tank gas, a nearly empty water tank... but nearly full gray and black tanks!

Question is... does that crap in the black tank weigh more than gasoline?? If anyone knows the answer, I CERTAINLY won't ask how you know...

Well one would have to know the capacity of your gas tank and black tank to know which was heaviest when you returned.

Gasoline is 6 lbs/gal, Black tank waste is 8 lbs/gallon

If it were my RV it would be 160 lbs of gas, and about 300 lbs of black tank waste when I returned. For kicks it would be about 460 lbs of gray waste, 40 lbs of fresh making total of 960 lbs.

When I left I would have had 480 lbs of gas, and 560 lbs of fresh, 0 lbs gray
and 0 lbs black for total 1,040

So only I return home 80 lbs lighter

Weighing is overrated

I get fuel every day when on the road regardless of the fuel gauge. I travel 200 to 250 miles a day so my fuel never really gets below a half a tank. The only exception is the last leg of the trip. I don't mind showing up to the house with the coach on E. For fresh water, if the tank is at half or below, I fill it. For waste, I dump gray at every campground and black when full.

As a public school graduate myself, I like your logic on keeping the tank close to full.
We lived in Arizona and are now in Texas. We are in a 35' gas Thor Windsport Class A. When traveling locally in Summer months, we have to run the generators to have the coach A/C's running for comfort. The system is set to shut down the generators at about 1/4 tank to prevent you from getting stranded when camping off the grid. I try to start the day with a full tank and fill up around 1/2 tank or a little less. Our tank holds 60 gallons, and we get about 7 MPG towing the car. We also try to stop every couple of hours or so to check the rigging, rest room breaks, stretching, and to let the dogs out. We try to stop where we can also fill the tank and then be "on the road again".

If diesel shortages start happening or prices push over $7/gal, we may just head straight to the Baloon Festival and make a stop or two on the way instead of doing our planned Colorado, Utah and Arizona stops before the Festival.

If we didn’t do our boating trip around the BVI last month (that was supposed to happen back in 2020 before COVID prevented it for two years and back before retirement), I’d only worry about fuel shortages and not so much the price…. but the BVI Trip broke the travel budget this year.

You will not be the only one staying home at $7!!

Many family members are recalibrating vacation plans as we speak!

This is utterly ridiculous!
