I have, supposedly, the tank heaters, at least the switches are there and lites above the switches work. I would guess they are only effective for temperatures that are not too extreme, like down to the low or mid twenties. Below that, you need real heat to keep things from freezing. Fortunately I am rarely in temps below freezing.

Tank heaters

I have a chateau 28z . I have tank heater switches but have a question. Do they run on propane or electric. Only hooked up to house right now not 30 amp and it's supposed to be cold tonight. Never used before, but believe if I have switches on they will kick on if it gets too cold

They're 12v with a thermostat set at something like 41 on and 60 off.

For those who dont have them they're $30 on Amazon.
Switches aren't for turning them on and off routinely, switches are for defeating them if you're boondocking and skeered about batteries.
Any case except boondocking , just leave them on, lest you forget.

When I was looking for tank Heaters,

Because my 2018 Hurricane 35m has fuses labeled for the tank Heaters, I looked for the pads and didn't find any, but did find a heating duct in the opposite side of the compartment under the shower pan.
